Hello world!

I had this intro clearly drafted in my head during a recent run, but I lost all my inspiration now that I’m actually sitting still at my computer.  I do some of my best thinking while I run.  I’ve written so many blog posts in my head while running, complete with a dash of wit.  If only I could have some sort of speech to text thing going while I run so I could keep track of my thoughts.  I guess the neighbors might look at me funny if I’m talking while I run.  At least I’d be pushing my son in the jogging stroller so it will look like I’m talking to him :) .

Anyway, my idea for this blog popped into my head during a run a few weeks ago.  I was thinking about how I love reading running magazines and blogs, but I don’t come across many that offer practical advice for the running parent- so there you have it!

I’m not an expert by any means.  I’m just a mom who likes to run.  I ran a marathon and a half marathon in 2006.  Since then, I’ve been an on and off runner (on when it’s warm out; off when it’s cold because I’m kind of a wuss about running in the cold, but I’m working on it!) I’m currently training for a half marathon this Spring and my son comes along for almost all of my training runs.  Unfortunately, he won’t be allowed to join me on race day and I know I’ll miss his company, but I suppose my hubby will serve as an acceptable replacement.

In addition to running, I love spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, photography, traveling, and long walks on the beach :) .

Cool idea for a blog! I hope to see more posts on your running experiences. Maybe next blog you can discuss recommended running gear?

Great Idea! I was training for a 10k before I got pregnant and then my Dr. said to cool the running until after the baby. Boo for mot running for 9 months, but at least I can follow your runs lol.

Gina- I bet after you have the baby, you’re going to be one of those people I’m in awe of when I see them running pushing 2 babies in the double jogger! :)
